About
Through thoughtful discussion and local action, we aim to build a more civically engaged community and nation.
Our Mission
Our mission is to build community through gathering together to discuss important issues, and to convey the significance of voting to impact those issues. We aim to educate around civics and economics in engaging, fun, accessible ways.
We are powerful. We are engaged. We are local.
How WAATB Works
We meet on a bi-monthly basis, over a meal, to discuss one of the most important issues facing our country today. To ensure that our meetings are accessible to all, we provide babysitting on site. In order to help us gain a well informed perspective on the issues at hand, we work with other local and national organizations to bring in experts and activists to speak at our gatherings.
Our Team
THERESE MELDEN
Therese had never been political until the 2016 election changed everything. She co-founded We are America the Beautiful and in 2019 founded Leading Ladies to more actively build a community of like-minded women who believe everyone deserves equity and dignity. She has been an organizer since high school; becoming a mother pushed her to serve on the boards of her children's schools and non-profit community organizations on the North Shore. A graduate of Sargent College at Boston University where she received a BS in Rehabilitation Services, Therese later earned an MBA from Northeastern University. She loves to ballroom dance, paint in pastel, and travel with her family. Her latest goal is to visit all 60 US National Parks in the next 10 years. That will take some creative organizing.
Kim Woods
Kim Woods, co-founder of We Are America the Beautiful, is also a Spiritual Leader and Transformation Expert, offering the ultimate marriage of spirituality and multimillion dollar business strategy to help successful business leaders achieve their birthright of brilliance, legacy and financial freedom. Kim’s clients range from Fortune 500 companies and $MM CEO’s to solopreneurs and creatives.
Her extensive business background involves directing a $10M+ consulting practice for Oracle Corporation, founding a 7-figure business strategy firm and receiving her MBA from Babson College.
Kim lives in the Boston area with her husband, Greg, and two college-age children Nick and Katy. She’s also on the board of HAWC, a leading domestic violence agency in Massachusetts.
She’s created We Are America the Beautiful with Therese because it’s her passion to broaden people’s perspectives and to build community.
When she’s not working or involved in her passion projects, you can find her gardening, at the beach or catching up with friends and family.
Kelly Littleton
Kelly Littleton is a business owner and serial-entrepreneur. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in History with honors. After working at UCLA for several years, she and her husband sold their home, cars, and furniture to travel the world for a year and start over in a new place. They decided to live in Austin, Texas to be near family.
Kelly’s first solo business was an Amazon webstore. Within twelve months she earned over six figures in revenue. She sold her webstore after the pandemic hit and focused her energies on finding her next vocation.
Kelly's passions include travel, history, genealogy, and photography. She has been a member of four different startups and is opening a property management business with her husband this summer.
